Pumpkins

Here is a glimpse of our week at school and a few pictures from our Trike-a-thon. It was a wonderful week learning around the theme of pumpkins!
Maddie and Evan painting their orange pumpkins. The kids loved this activity!
Sweet Hadley busy playing in the play-do center.
The kids love dancing in circle time!! So cute!
Lots of fun in the sensory table with real pumpkins!
They are so busy stamping and coloring their pumpkin papers.
Pumpkin fun! The kids making smiley faces with play-do on the pumpkins and putting stickers on some. Both of these activities help their little hands so much with fine motor skills, all while having a good time. ;)
More fun this week with scissors and straws in an extra sensory tub. They loved playing in this and working on their cutting skills.
Mrs. Jen subbed for Mrs. Beth one day! Here she is in her cute witch hat :) finishing up the pumpkin painting with the kids.
The kids sat with me and we worked on counting. Together we lined up candy corn and counted from 1 to 5.
Getting ready for Pumpkin Bowling!! :)
Madison feels like such a big girl. :)
WooHoo! Yay Evan!!!
We read fun pumpkin books this week. This one is "The Littlest Pumpkin". (the kids loved this story. This pumpkin was too little to be a jack-o-latern at a party with people, but it was just the right size for a party with mice.) See if your child can retell it to you! We also read "The Biggest Pumpkin". After reading these two books we compared big and small pumpkins in our classroom.
Eden and Chinara playing with the "Mr. Pumpkin Heads" and Potato Heads. :)
Here the kids are using water colors to paint their "P" pictures.
Little buddies, William and Karsen. :)
Maddie sat down in the reading center with Mady Kate to read her a book. So sweet.
Mrs. Kelly's class marched over to our classroom in a "parade" to show off their costumes!!
Then we got to do the same!! The kids were so excited to go trick-or-treating in her classroom.
Thank you, Mrs. Kelly!!
Love this sweet little cheerleader, Mallory!
Little Pumpkin :)
On Thursday Mrs. Jennifer brought in her HUGE tricycle as a fun reminder about Trike-a-thon! Here we all are together with it. The kids loved it!!
Such a beautiful night at Floyds Knobs Elementary for our Trike-a-thon. My family had so much fun!! Thank you again to each of you for all the support you give our sweet school. We appreciate all of you who were able to come that night, and we missed those of you who couldn't make it!
Such a good time playing in bubbles with the bubble truck, jumping in the jumpy's, and riding bikes with friends!!!

Fire Safety

The two year old class had such a fun week at LAP! Our theme was "fire safety" and the kids learned so much. We even had a special visit from the Floyds Knobs Fire Department!
Most of the kids were thrilled to see the fire truck and learn all about fire safety from actual fire fighters! (We had to laugh though because some were on the verge of tears and extra clingy. It was cute. You never know with this age what is going through their little minds!)
Myla, Chinara, and Eden so excited to go in the truck!
Maddie jumped into her daddy's arms when they came to visit!
Eden and Amalie sorting pictures of hot things (like hot chocolate, fire, and matches) and cold things (like snowy trees, popsicles, and icy cold drinks).
We had an extra sensory table this week with ice and cold water! As always, they all seem to love playing in it. This was a fun way to help reinforce all we were learning about hot (like fire) and cold!
Mallory is working hard on her H picture! Our letter of the week was H for Hot.
and H for Hadley!!
Sweet Karsen, so happy to be doing her picture.
Love this smile. They all love little activities like this and feel so big. When working with them at the table, we always sing a song that goes with the letter we are working on. This week it was "H says (h sound), H says (he sound), every letter makes a sound, H says (h sound)" See if they can sing it for you!
Yay Wyatt!! They are so proud of their work!
Myla working hard on her cutting skills at the sensory table. This was a big hit this week! They used scissors to cut straws and loved it.
Eva dancing to the "Color Song". So cute!
Evan dressed up as a fireman and holding his fire truck picture he painted. They loved pretending to be real fire fighters this week!
Myla getting ready to make orange fire! Each child mixed their yellow paint and red paint to make orange. They thought that was pretty cool. :)
Madison Kate and Wyatt working away in the art center.
The class used dotter markers to work on counting with Mrs. Beth! This week we worked on numbers 1-4. Hope all of you have a great weekend! Next week we will do all kinds of fun activities around our "pumpkin" theme. Remember your child can come dressed up in a costume on Thursday, and we will have a little fall party that day. Can't wait to see all them then!!
