Easter

We had such a fun week at preschool learning all around our Easter theme!! Unfortunately, we don't have many pictures to show for it!! This morning I backed up my iphone with iCloud, not knowing it would delete all my current pictures!!!  So all the sweet pictures we took last week at school are lost. :(  I did pop back into school though and was able to snap a couple pics of our favorite crafts from this week.

How adorable are those?!  I hope you all have a wonderful spring break!  I will miss seeing each of the kiddos.  I look forward to seeing them again in two weeks and learning with our new Ocean theme.  Until next time.....

St. Patrick's Day Rainbows

We had such a GREAT week in our new location!!  The kids LOVE our beautiful new classroom.

St. Patrick's Day Rainbows was a such fun theme for them!  Below they are making "breakfast rainbows".  They loved making these (and sneaking bites of the cereal:) . Who can resist such a yummy treat?? :)

They also enjoyed very special snacks this week.  Evan sent in clover pretzel snacks and rainbow rice krispy treats for Thursday and shamrock cookies for Friday.  Thank you, Evan!!  They brought lots of smiles.

We are very excited about our new tabletop centers and how well the kids are engaging in them!  Look at this concentration. :) Here are a few pictures of these centers... above is a counting activity.  (many of these activities strengthen their little fine motor muscles as well).

a puzzle matching shapes...

matching colors with clothespins...

and making beaded bracelets...

The class loved this fun rainbow activity.  Each child was given six different color hearts that they then matched to their papers.  They used gluing skills to glue them down.  We also talked about the rainbow in the Bible that God gave Noah and how out of God's love for us He promised never to flood the earth again.  We tied in a sweet verse about love with this craft: "God is love, whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him." I John 4:16.

We added cute little handprint clouds to their rainbows.  They were so proud of their pretty projects!

In circle time we did a fun color experiment together.  We watched the water turn colors as we put skittles in it.  The class saw how red and yellow skittles make orange.  How cool! ;)

The Minds in Motion room was so fun for the class this week!!  We are working very hard to teach the kids the routine. Thursday was a little chaotic (Ha! as expected!)  They were all so excited and wanted to try everything!  Friday was a much better day!!  It is amazing what this group can do and how well they can listen and follow directions even though they are so young.

Each child is assigned a certain starting center.  They use their starting place for a minute while the music plays.  When the music stops they get to move to the next center and use it for one minute... and so on...

YAY so fun!!

Here we worked on number recognition, counting, and gluing with shamrocks. They are really doing well with counting!

Hadley turned 3 on Friday!!  Here is the sweet birthday girl with her shamrock craft! Thank you for the special birthday treat you shared with your friends!!
