Pond Life

Here we are learning about ducks' and frogs' webbed feet! :)

filling in our daily weather charts :)

The class did such great independent work this week at the independent station.  Here they are following directions by coloring each pond animal a certain color.  They did a great job reading their color sight words too!!

After reading A Frog's Life by Louise Gikow, we made this fun project.  We practiced our cutting skills, gluing skills, and even got to paint.  We remembered from our book that a frog starts off as an egg, then it is a tadpole, then a froglet, then a frog!  :)

Rainbows!

What a fun RAINBOW week!

We worked hard practicing our first and last names by "rainbow writing" them.

...and we worked hard reading and writing our sight words. :)

We discussed rhyming words and each child created his/her own "Rainbow Rhyme".

our big door holder :)

We love the Minds-in-Motion room!!

SILLY girl :)

Thanks to this sweet friend, we had wonderful RAINBOW snacks all week!!

We strengthen our fine motor muscles at morning table top centers!

... and we practice all the things we are learning during class time!

This smart boy matched the uppercase letter to its lowercase. :)

During Nutrition week, our class made rainbows from real fruits and veggies!  We pulled these out this week and discussed again what it means to "Eat a Rainbow" and to make healthy choices.

little dancers :)

We had a couple of these Rainbow Emergent Readers in class this week.  After reading it together as a class, the students were so excited to read them on their own.  The catchy phrases and sight word/color words made it possible for the class to read them!

"Blue stripe, blue stripe, what do you see??" ...

"I see a rainbow looking at me!"

making rainbows by matching upper case letters to their lower case...

helping each other :)

These guys are so big!  They are making a numbers book....

... and filling out the tens frames for each number!

"Student of the Day" kiddos this week...

Hope you enjoyed this glimpse of your child's week at school!!  Come back soon. :)
