We had such a great week learning around the fun theme of APPLES!
Our shape of the week was circle. Our colors were red, green, and yellow. (for apples of course!) We got to use a big red circle to make our apple craft. We also used our cute little handprints for the leaves.
Smallest to Largest...
Look how big we are using glue sticks all by ourselves.
Our room smelled like apples and Fall! We got to make "apple pies" in the sensory center this week. We used measuring cups, pie pans, and some real spices and ingredients!
FUN in the SUN
We had beautiful, cool weather for play time outside.
These two were so sweet... holding hands and just sitting together. :)
Oh how much fun we had this week with the book, Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons by Eric Litwin! Here is Mrs. Jennifer and the kiddos as they read and listened to the "Button Song" (as we called it;).
We looked at a box of buttons and chose some ones that were circles and that were red. We then made our class tree into an APPLE tree. :)
Applesauce!
We rotated centers this week during our craft time, and it went so well!! Here the children are working with Mrs. Jeana at her center and gluing apples to our letter A! We also sang the A song together as we worked. (Leap Frog: "the A says..." for Apples!)
Here a few of us are working in Mrs. Beth's craft center. We painted with REAL apples this week. So fun. We used red apples in red paint, green in green paint, and yellow in yellow paint!
There are two other centers in the classroom open during this time. Here some of us are looking at books and reading in the Reading Center. It's fun to go in the tent and get cozy with a book!
Our fourth and last center is on the green carpet. Each day there will be different toys in this center and will be free playtime for the kiddos.
I was so impressed with how well the children worked in their little small groups and rotated when it was time to move centers. What good listeners!
Look what I made!! So proud. :)
To reinforce our shapes, colors, and names, we have special name tags for when we line up each day! This also helps us learn how to stay lined up like the big boys and girls when we go outside or to the Minds-in-Motion room. :)
