Snowmen!

We had another great week at preschool learning around the theme of SNOWMEN! (Well, a fun DAY... I hope you are enjoying your snow day at home today on Friday!) Below is a little glimpse of your child's Thursday at LAP. :)
Love this smile :) Our number of the week was nine. We counted nine snowmen together, and the kids used their gluing skills to glue all of them to their papers.
Here the kids are painting "snow" on their snowman pictures with Q-tips and paint.
It was so cute to see their reactions when they saw their pictures on the snowmen. They LAUGHED and thought they were sooo silly. :) They were so excited to surprise you with them!
What cuties!
We had our own little snowman made of ice in our room! (made with frozen water balloons!) We read the book The Snowman, and at the end of the book the snowman melts. We talked a lot about how water freezes when it gets cold and how it melts and becomes water again when it's warm. I asked the kids if it was warm or cold in our classroom. They all said it was warm. Then they made guesses about what would happen to the snowman since it would be inside for the day.
A little time went by, and we checked on our snowman. The cotton balls were getting wet! They noticed the snowman was melting a little bit.
The class had lots of fun at our morning centers. Here the kids are matching the correct color clothespins to the same color circle. (great for strengthening those fine-motor skills and of course for color recognition)
They had a great time at the sensory table with ice again this week. As the ice melted, they enjoyed using little syringes in the water. (another great activity for those little hand muscles!) They also loved pouring the water from one cup to another.
These little guys have just loved playing with cars lately! I placed a few letter racing mats with the cars at this center. They had fun riding the cars on the first letter of their names!
At the art center they could use circle and triangle stamps if they wanted to make a snowman!
At the play-dough center they made more snowballs on the snowmen mats.
...and this was our poor little snowman at the end of the day. ;)
Here are a few pics snapped at Lunch Bunch. The kids always have a great time. They made an adorable snowman craft.
Sweet Mrs. Kelly just loves on all the kids! I love this shot caught at circle time. :)
The kids even got to have reading time in Mrs. Jen's cool igloo reading center. How fun!
Hope all of you have a great weekend! Looking forward to seeing your little ones again next week!!
